Monday Club

This weekly club brings together older people through a range of activities and events including welfare rights, physical activity, health promotion activities, arts/crafts cooking demonstrations, bus trips and informational sessions. It takes a holistic approach to health that aims to promote social inclusion, reduce isolation and provide practical advice and support to the most vulnerable in the community.

Mens Shed

Our Mens Shed is where older men can "rub shoulder to shoulder" through activities including woodwork, craft making and information sessions. Our members share tools and resources they need to work on projects of their own choosing at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. It is a place of skill-sharing and informal learning, of individual pursuits and community projects, of purpose, achievement and social interaction. The Mens Shed is not only a place of leisure where men come together to work but is a network of relationships where they socially interact and support each other. The project activities will take an holistic approach to health that aims to promote social inclusion, reduce isolation, improve health and wellbeing and provide practical advice and support to the most vulnerable in the community. Attending these activities will empower participants with knowledge and skill providing improved quality of life and goes some way to eradicating social exclusion.

Social Cafes

Our small social cafes are an ideal way to introduce new participants to new activities in a safe and secure environment and with the support of our volunteers. Participants come together for a cuppa and chat and identify activities together that they would like to undertake, for example, arts and crafts, light exercises, meditation, reminiscence, information and advice.
